Deublin 1129 Series Rotary Union

The Deublin 1129 Series Rotary Union is engineered for high-performance fluid and air transfer in rotating machinery. This precision-engineered solution transfers fluids and gases in high-speed, high-pressure industrial applications. This rotary union ensures long service life even under demanding conditions. Ideal for use in CNC machines, printing presses, rubber and plastic manufacturing, and packaging equipment, the 1129 Series handles a wide range of media, including compressed air, vacuum, coolants, and hydraulic fluids.

Key Features

  • Versatile Media Compatibility – Suitable for compressed air, vacuum, water, and hydraulic oil.

  • Long-Life Mechanical Seal – Balanced mechanical seal ensures leak-free performance and reduces wear.

  • High-Speed Rotation – Operates efficiently up to 1500 RPM.

  • Rugged Construction – Brass or stainless steel body for corrosion resistance in industrial environments.

  • Flexible Mounting Options – Available in rotor-mounted and shaft-mounted configurations.

Engineers use DEUBLIN fittings in nearly limitless applications, adapting them to diverse materials, viscosities, temperatures, pressures, and speeds. Rotary joints handle extremely high pressures while rotating at very high speeds. This requires a near-perfect seal fit, meaning the seals must overlap slightly, minimizing loads or pressure on the sealing surfaces regardless of the media’s pressure. Furthermore, they must rotate smoothly and stably, minimizing friction to extend service life and reduce leakage.

The seal is the core component of DEUBLIN rotary joints. Even at high speeds (for example, at 20,000 rpm, the Deublin rotary union 1129 coolant joints can reach speeds of nearly 16 feet per second (5 meters per second) and fluid pressures of 2030 ps (140 bar)), very high pressures must be maintained. To ensure precise sealing, smooth rotation, and extended service life, the seals utilize precision-ground and composite materials to achieve an optical smoothness of 2 bands (0.58 microns, or 23 millionths per inch). Dublin uses premium silicon carbide to manufacture all rotary joint seals, ensuring superior wear and heat resistance.

Engineers employ a balanced mechanical seal design.  This technology minimizes both seal contact pressure and shaft thrust load, regardless of operating pressure. This reduces seal wear, extends service life, and provides more reliable performance.

Bearings (select models): In bearing-supported joints, one or more bearings connect the rotor and housing, providing support and reducing friction, ensuring smooth rotation. Bearingless joints, on the other hand, do not utilize bearings. Depending on the application, the housing can have one or more outlet connections.

Applications

  • CNC Machining – Ensures reliable coolant delivery for high-speed spindles, reducing thermal deformation and tool wear.
  • Wind Energy – Transmits hydraulic pressure and electrical signals in turbine pitch/yaw systems for optimal energy output.
  • Oil & Gas – Withstands extreme vibration and pressure in pipeline cleaning and fracking equipment.
  • Semiconductor Manufacturing – Delivers ultra-precise fluid control for wafer fabrication and circuit etching processes.
