Rotary Union for Slag Cooler

The Rotary Union for Slag Cooler is specifically engineered for continuous slag cooling systems used in steel plants, foundries, and metallurgical industries. It ensures efficient transfer of cooling water or air while maintaining leak-free and high-temperature-resistant performance under severe working conditions.

Our rotary unions are precision-manufactured and designed to match the demanding requirements of slag coolers, where stable and reliable water circulation is essential to control thermal stress and enhance cooling efficiency.

With years of experience in rotary joint manufacturing, our factory provides durable, customizable, and cost-effective solutions that are fully compatible with different types of slag cooler systems.

Key Features

High-Temperature and Pressure Resistance

Built with robust materials such as stainless steel, carbon graphite, and silicon carbide seals, our rotary unions can handle temperatures up to 200°C and pressures up to 40 bar, ensuring long-term stability in hot slag cooling environments.

Leak-Free Sealing Technology

Advanced mechanical sealing design ensures zero leakage during continuous rotation, maintaining safe and efficient cooling water circulation.

Corrosion and Wear Resistant

We treat all wetted parts with corrosion-resistant coatings to ensure long-lasting durability and reliable performance in harsh environments. It allows smooth operation even with impure or high-mineral cooling water in steel mills or foundry systems.

Customizable Configurations

Available in single-passage and dual-passage models, compatible with water, air, or mixed media. We offer custom port sizes, thread types (BSP/NPT/metric), and housing materials based on your system’s specifications.

Factory Direct & Cost-Effective

As a rotary joint manufacturer, we control every production step—from CNC machining to testing—ensuring high quality at competitive prices, ideal for OEMs and replacement markets.

How the Rotary Union Works in a Slag Cooler

The slag cooler operates at extremely high temperatures, often exceeding 1,000°C when slag exits the furnace. To manage this heat, cooling water is circulated through a rotary union connected to the cooler’s rotating drum or shaft.

Our rotary union enables continuous transfer of water or coolant into the rotating section while preventing leakage or contamination. This ensures stable heat exchange, uniform cooling, and improved efficiency of the entire slag cooling process.

By maintaining consistent water flow and sealing integrity, the rotary joint prevents overheating, scale buildup, and component wear, reducing maintenance frequency and energy loss.

Order Guide

To select the right rotary union for your slag cooler, please provide the following information:

  • Type of slag cooler and rotation speed

  • Cooling medium (water, air, oil, etc.)

  • Working temperature and pressure

  • Connection type and passage number

  • Required flow rate and installation dimensions

Our engineers will recommend the most suitable rotary union model and provide technical drawings upon request.
